The National Engineering Research Center for Chinese Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology and New Drug Development (“Engineering Center”) won the Second Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2021 by virtue of its project “Key Technologies and Industrialization of Full Chain Precision Analysis and Quality Control of Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine in Lingnan Area”. In this project, the Engineering Center has developed a series of “fast, sensitive and efficient” accurate analysis technologies, and established a key technology system for “full chain” quality control from the source of medicinal materials to the decoction pieces, extracts and finished preparations. This achievement is based on the application of multispectral technology (chromatography, mass spectrometry, and spectrum, etc.), with molecular-level accuracy as the standard, serving a number of local leading enterprises of traditional Chinese medicine such as Guangdong Efong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Hanfang, and effectively solving the prominent problems faced by the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine in Lingnan area.
